Project - Energy Awareness on Conservation
Aim
of the Project
Considering the need to make the
next generation more aware regarding efficient use of energy resources, it is
necessary to introduce children during their school education. In this regard,
promotion of energy efficiency in schools is being promoted through the
project. The main methodology being adopted by this project is to train a
maximum number of students from 9 to 12 class and schools in states. These students
will assume the role of further training other students to ensure
sustainability and continuity of the project.
Research, Survey and Data Analysis
The students conduct survey in school and at home to reduce Energy consumptions. By implement energy-conservation measures and using energy-efficient technologies, schools can significantly cut their energy use. The students make Questionnaires and Surveys are great ways of gathering information about people's habit, knowledge, opinions and preferences. Collate the results of the questionnaire and create graphs and pictures to show the result. Display the results on school board so the whole school body can see.
Survey work given to students GROUP wise.
1. Students survey the school leakage point where the electricity consumes more.
2. Students survey 5 STAR rating electric appliances.
3. Students survey the use of solar energy in their locality.
4. Students conduct online survey of use of renewable source of energy in world.
Making Energy efficient Calculator
Students
create home electric calculator for measuring electric used at their
home. They calculate electric reading and formula for Estimating Energy
consumption. They create Electric Calculator in Excel and used
mathematical formula, table and calculate their home energy uses. In
this way they learn how to use the electric calculator and cut down wastage of
electricity at home.
Creative the Action Plan
After survey students using the data from the audit, identify the places where energy is not being used efficiently at home and school.
Science Exhibition
In science exhibition students create model of renewable source of energy. They made solar cooker, solar lantern, windmill, and water energy etc.
Organized Education
tour
1. Students vested CHILA HYDRO POWER STATIONS in Pauri Garhwal. Students learned how the Electric Power generated by using water. After retiring from the tour they make project file and presentation by using web resources.
2. Students visited SOLAR HEATER WATER PLANT in BHEL Guest house and Hospital. At that place they observed how the water was boiled by use of solar energy.
3. Students vested on ENERGY CONSERVATION MOBILE VAN in Govt. Girls Inter College Jwlalpur Hardwar. On mobile van students learned the new sources of energy and their potential.
Competition and workshop
teri” (The Energy and Resources Institute, Delhi) organized a workshop – subject on Energy Awareness on Conservation,
Slogan writing competition/Group Activity under BEACON Project at K.V. BHEL
Hardwar. In this workshop our school students participated and show their best
presentation on efficient use of energy resources. Four students of our school
awarded for his best presentations.
Energy Awareness on Conservation Painting – On dated 20 Dec. 2013 The Times of India, UREDA & ONGC has been awarded to Swati
Patel class Xth for his painting on saving Energy 2013. Her painting
has been selected for ONGC calendar year 2014. The Award was given by The Director of UREDA (Shri Ranjan Kumar
Shina) in ONGC auditorium at Dehradun.
Awareness
campaign
This project is focusing on monitoring the use of electricity, heating and
water. Savings are achieved primarily through change of habits of household
members who can reach more than 10% savings with a more rational use of
energy. In home they use energy saving
light CFL and motivate people to purchase 5 Star rating environment friendly
electric appliances. The teacher and students would discuss the
topic of implementing
energy-conservation measures and using energy-efficient technologies,
schools and community can significantly cut their energy use. The result is
financial savings as well as a reduced environmental impact. They discuss the
topic of increasing school electric bill, purchase new light CFL and new fans.
Students show their presentation on PTA meeting and gave them Handout of Easy Ways to Save Energy ¼ÅtkZ cpkus ds mik;½. The entire
PTA member was excited about the project.
On “Energy
Conservation Day” students prepared poster, slogans and charts and were go around the school vicinity
areas as well as in the town area of taking banners to create awareness among the people about the importance
of energy awareness and conversation.
On “Earth
Hour Day” students communities the massage of switch off the light for one hour in respect of Building “Energy
Awareness on Conservation the natural resources”. Students send the message by
using email and SMS in mobile.

Awareness Program in Village |
Creative
and scientific work
In regular assemblies, students share survey results, achievements and development plans for the future. Prepare a school notice board showing graphs of results
and achievements. Involve the local
media and to let everyone know about the school's energy conservation
project. They also involve the student’s
community in spreading awareness in the society. Team up with another school
in the area to share ideas. Uploaded the
creative and innovative activities done by our students. Students share their
work to UREDA Dehradun Uttrakhand.
The
students share their work online. They Upload their presentation on YouTube and other web sites and photo
on Facebook. They create their own Facebook account and share project
work. The students share photo and video by
using Mobile. They write their comment on line.
